New campaign: Australia wastes $4.5 billion in unsold goods every year, whilst demand for essential goods has ‘never been higher’
Kaizen is proud to provide strategic communication and media relations to Good360 Australia, the largest digital marketplace in Australia connecting new, unsold consumer essentials to Australians in need.
As the charity celebrated its 10th year of operation, having redistributed over $500 million dollars’ worth of items, we supported the development and release of a new report from Deloitte Access Economics revealing that $4.5 billion of new, unsold goods are still being wasted every year. Meanwhile, more than one in eight Australians live in poverty – highlighting the growing need for circular models such as Good360 Australia.
Working closely with the Good360 team and founder Alison Covington AM, in May 2025 we secured over 330 pieces of media coverage reaching an estimated 8 million Australians.
Media highlights included:
Feature stories in The Sydney Morning Herald, NewsCorp and AAP/The Daily Mail
Interviews for Alison Covington AM with ABC Radio, Channel 9, ABC News Breakfast and Sky News
Good360 Australia Founder Alison Covington AM talking to Channel 9 News
This campaign follows Kaizen’s success working with Good360 Australia in 2024 - securing over 1,200 pieces of media coverage and over 29 million ‘opportunities to view’.
We look forward to continuing to support Good360 Australia as they grow, encouraging more organisations to connect surplus essential items to Australians in need, all while reducing waste.
