Kaizen’s contribution to ‘Good Change’

Our purpose at Kaizen PR & Communications is to help create ‘Good Change’ in the world. Kaizen does this via our work in providing strategic communication support to our clients, and by donating to causes we believe in too.

Kaizen may be a small, growing business but I believe businesses, no matter what they do, how big they are or where they operate, have the power to create ‘Good Change’. That’s why I have committed to giving away a portion of Kaizen’s revenue and profit each year to charities that are creating ‘Good Change’ in the world.

As part of this commitment, Kaizen has:

  • Signed up for the 1% for the Planet initiative which will see us give away at least 1% of our revenue every year to charities that are combating environmental issues around the world.

  • Committed to giving away at least 5% of our profits each year to Australian charities working across issues that are important to us.

As part of that commitment, we have donated 5% of our profits in the 2022-23 financial year to WIRES and the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. Why have we chosen these two Australian charities?

Why we are supporting WIRES

A number of years ago, I did some work on a koala conservation project for a NSW Government agency. As part of this work, I spent some time with WIRES volunteers who were helping to care for and rehabilitate injured animals. I was inspired and blown away by the dedication of these volunteers, with one volunteer I met looking after koalas, wombats, kangaroos, snakes and birds on her property.

With Australia facing an extinction crisis, the work of WIRES in helping to rescue and rehabilitate over 130,000 animals every year is more important than ever. WIRES also helps fund important habitat conservation and rehabilitation projects across the country.

Why we are supporting the Indigenous Literacy Foundation

As a communications agency, reading, writing, creativity and analytical thinking is at the core of what we do. That’s why we love the work the Indigenous Literacy Foundation does in helping to provide books and learning resources to over 400 remote and regional Indigenous communities. The Foundation also acts as a publisher helping communities to publish books and learning resources.

With Indigenous children still trailing non-Indigenous children when it comes to educational outcomes, the work of the Indigenous Literacy Foundation is crucial in helping to address growing social and economic divides in Australia.

You can learn more about and donate to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation here.

We hope that as we grow, our contribution to these organisations and to creating ‘Good Change’ continues to grow as well.
